DRIVER ELIGIBILITY

Membership: All participants are required to be SCCA members. Anyone who does not have a current annual membership on their person (or can show it electronically, on their phone) will be required to purchase a weekend membership for this event.
Time Trial Licenses
- TT Licenses are not required for this event.
- Drivers can log Track Sprint experience toward qualifying for an SCCA Time Trials license.
- Be sure to let the Registrar know that you want a logbook when you come to the safety/tech check-in! I don't know if we will have any.
Driver Eligibility
- Weekend or Full Membership of the SCCA.
- Valid government-issued driver’s license.
- All drivers show their driver's license at safety/tech check-in.

- A Time Trials License from the SCCA/recognized sanctioning body or a competition license from a recognized sanctioning body.
Minor Drivers

All drivers 17 years old or younger must meet the Driver Eligibility requirements and contact Event Officials before the event and get approval from the Event Lead. In addition the following items are required for participation by a minor:
- Completed Annual Parental Consent, Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement. (Note: forms vary by state and witnessing method.)
- Completed Minor’s Assumption of Risk Acknowledgment. (Note: forms vary by state and witnessing method.)
- Full Membership of the SCCA.
- A valid driver’s license which does not require a passenger in the vehicle, issued by state, province, territory or country.
- When applying for a Time Trials License, they must apply directly to SCCA Member Services.

Event Requirements

NATIONAL EVENT SAFETY RULES

For National SCCA Events, the Vehicle and Driver Equipment Safety Rules are as follows, with descriptions of each level below:

Sport, Tuner and Max categories must meet Safety Level 1.
Production vehicles prepped within Sport Category allowances on aftermarket (non-OE) D.O.T. approved tires with a UTQG rating of 100-199 may meet Safety Level 1 and will be classed in Unlimited Category.
Unlimited-category vehicles on D.O.T. approved tires with a UTQG rating of 200 or higher must meet Safety Level 1.
Unlimited-category vehicles prepped beyond Sport Category allowances and on D.O.T. approved tires with a UTQG rating of less than 200 or any vehicle on D.O.T. tires with a UTQG rating of less than 100 must meet Safety Level 2.
Unlimited vehicles on non-D.O.T. tires must meet Safety Level 3.
Ask us for a determination for your safety level if it's unclear to you too. According to SCCA SOLO rules, all Street, Street Tire, and CAM classes must run on 200 treadwear tires and will be Safety Level 1. If you level up in your competition class while your car isn't changed, you don't need to meet the higher safety level. For example if you run your FS car in CP to get a trophy, its safety level is still 1.

Vehicle Eligibility
- Has at least four (4) wheels, grouped in equal sets of half of the wheels on the vehicle per side, six (6) if you are running a crewcab dually
- Must fit into the Safety Triangle for stability, height must be less than the average track width measured from the center of the tires
- Must be under 103dB “A” frequency weighted (dBA) measured on the fast response setting at 50 feet (+/- 2 feet) from the edge of the track pavement
Convertibles and Safety
- It is highly recommended that all convertible vehicles be equipped with an aftermarket roll bar that meets or exceeds the standards set in the Time Trials Safety Standard Level 2 (see those standards here).
- However, minimum safety standard requires the vehicle meets at least one of the following criteria and is not subject to any of the listed exceptions:
  - 1. Convertible vehicles up to and including the 2005 model year must have rollover protection meeting one of the following criteria:
    - A. The vehicle is equipped with documented factory installed roll over protection. (Examples of manufacturer-documented roll over protection include hydroformed and reinforced a-pillars or windshield frame and factory installed roll bars and/or “pop-up” bars that are designated as roll over protection.)
    - B. The vehicle is equipped with a commercially produced roll bar or roll cage which is described by the manufacturer to provide track-appropriate rollover protection. (E.g., “style” bars are not acceptable.)
      - 1. Braces and portions of the main hoop subject to contact by the driver’s or passenger’s helmet, as seated normally and restrained by seatbelt and harness, must be padded with a non-resilient material such as Ethafoam® or Ensolite® or other similar material with a minimum thickness of 1/2 inch. Padding meeting SFI spec 45.1 or FIA 8857-2001 is strongly recommended.
    - C. The vehicle is equipped with a roll bar that meets the Safety Level 2 standards for material and construction.
  - 2. Convertible vehicles of the 2006 model year or later must have a roll bar that meets the Safety Level 2 standards for material and construction unless one of the following criteria is met.
    - A. The vehicle is equipped with documented factory-installed roll over protection or a commercially produced roll bar or roll cage which is described by the manufacturer to provide track-appropriate rollover protection.
    - B. The vehicle is six (6) cylinders, with the OE drivetrain and may only be naturally aspirated.
    - C. The vehicle is four (4) cylinders or less, with the OE drivetrain, including any forced-induction equipment.
    - Note: This means that for 2006+ vehicles, if the engine is not the original equipment model as delivered in that vehicle, aftermarket forced induction has been installed, or the vehicle has more than six (6) cylinders or six (6) cylinders and forced induction of any type, the vehicle must have aftermarket rollover protection or documented factory rollover protection.
  - 3. T-tops and targa top cars:
    T-top and targa top cars are not considered convertibles, and do not fall under the convertible requirements.

Vehicle must be SOLO Classed and Numbered on both sides. examples: ESP 12 12 BST
Vehicle must pass a Tech inspection
- Must have driver safety equipment and passenger safety equipment if needed to meet body style and class

- Vehicles with aftermarket safety equipment MUST bring their driver, helmet, and the tech/safety sheet WMRSCCA Grattan Tech Form.3.pdf to tech inspection
- Drivers, without vehicles, must bring their helmet and a tech/safety sheet WMRSCCA Grattan Tech Form.3.pdf to tech inspection only if your vehicle is stock without any changed or added seats, seatbelts, rollbars, or other safety equipment
- Bring your logbook if you have one
- Drivers must bring their vehicle, helmet, and a tech/safety sheet WMRSCCA Grattan Tech Form.3.pdf to tech inspection even if your vehicle has a Time Trial annual tech from an other SCCA region
- If the vehicle can’t pass tech, you will get a refund.
Vehicle must pass a basic Safety inspection
- Drivers will be self reporting their inspection on WMRSCCA Grattan Tech Form.3.pdf at the tech/safety check-in
- We will pull you in for inspection at any time if we feel that it is necessary
Helmet Snell, SFI, FIA 2010 or newer Helmet for Safety Level 1, Snell, SFI, FIA 2015 or newer for Safety Level 2 and 3.
Drivers' Meeting:
- There will always be a mandatory drivers' meeting for all participants with in-depth instructions on flag rules, safety and track etiquette; this will take place at 9:30am promptly.
- Plan to allow 15-20 minutes to get through registration and prep your car before the meeting. Information given at the meeting is crucial to EVERYONE for a safe and smooth event.
- Any drivers not in attendance at the drivers' meeting will not be permitted to drive until they have had the instructions. If you can't hear it, you were not there. No refunds, no exceptions.
Track Penalty Rules As we are currently not part of any competition series, there are a few tiny differences from national and divisional rules.
- No passing-DNF* plus loosing fastest run
- No running RED flags-DNF* plus loosing fastest run
- No 4 or more tires off of the track-DNF*
- No 2 (3 if it’s a dually) whole tires off of the track-DNF
- No hitting the Great Chicane cones-DNF
- No hitting the timing equipment-DNF* plus loosing your fastest run and plus replacement cost
- No holding up traffic from bad driving (ie. spin and continue, ect.)-DNF
- No hitting the armco-DNF* plus $250 a piece
- No dragging dirt all over the track from off roading-DNF* plus loosing fastest run
- No speeding off of the competition course-DNF of your fastest run
- Cones knocked over or standing outside of the box is a 2 second penalty#
- Behavior and/or driving in a menace to society-Parked**
- Repeat offenders-Parked**
  - * is a discussion with a safety steward, competition director
  - ** is a meeting of officials to evaluate incidents prior to being parked. It could be one or up to three incidents. There is no guarantee that it is three strikes and you're out.

Participant Conduct
- 1. All participants, including competitors, officials, crew and guests are expected to act in a mature and sportsmanlike manner. Behavior strictly prohibited at SCCA Time Trials Events include, but are not limited to: bribery, fraud, reckless actions, refusing to cooperate with officials and/or the competitors, acting unsportsmanlike and threatening or committing physical violence.
- 2. Alcohol, Drugs and Narcotics:
  
  A. No driver, entrant or crew member may consume alcohol until all practice, qualifying or racing for his or her class is finished for the day. No official may consume alcohol until his or her duties have been completed for the day. Anyone who has consumed any alcohol on the day of an event—other than following the conclusion of his or her activities—shall not participate on that day, may be excluded from the balance of the event and may be penalized as specified. Alcohol may not be consumed in the pits until after all of the day’s on-track activities are concluded.
  
  B. The use at an event by any participant of any Federal Schedule 1 controlled substance (including marijuana), or other drug that affects the ability of the participant to safely participate in the event, or may otherwise adversely affect the safety or integrity of the event, is specifically prohibited. Certain prescription and non-prescription medicines may also impair performance, so competent medical authority should be consulted prior to using such medicines and participating in the event. Any participant who violates this prohibition may be penalized as specified.
- 3. Firearms
  Possession of firearms is only permitted in compliance with federal and local ordinances and per facility rules and regulations. Firearms are not permitted in vehicles while on course.
- 4. Drivers and entrants are responsible for the behavior or their crew and guests. Persons who sign the waiver for minors are responsible for the behavior of those minors.
- 5. Pets. All pets must be kept on a leash at all times, and all pet waste must be removed and disposed of.
- 6. Minors and Children. All minors and children must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.
- 7. Road Course Access. Under no circumstances shall any Participant access the road course in any vehicle unless specifically authorized by, and under the control of the Event Lead Apprentice or Event Lead as part of the Event activities. Unauthorized driving shall be considered grounds for removal of the driver and the vehicle from the premises for the entire Event and for the driver’s exclusion from future events. Driving to your corner worker station is not permitted.
Important Notes
- Drivers may be held responsible for the deductible for damages to property. The deductible is $1000. Armco is $250 a piece.
- Commercial and private unmanned aircraft systems (aka "drones") are prohibited unless authorized by the Event Lead.
- You must look for the email that is sent to drivers on the day before the event and you really need to read this, too.

  We give a $20 discount to the Furrin Group. The Furrin Group runs timing and scoring for the event. Furrin Group Membership is a paid membership fee to the Furrin Group. Furrin Group membership covers the Weekend Membership cost. Non members will be charged the "General Public" price.

Motorsports are inherently dangerous. These Rules are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others. You can reduce risk by driving well, properly using superior safety gear, paying attention, and reporting unsatisfactory issues to the event officials. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle being used is properly prepared for operation under elevated acceleration, braking and cornering forces. Drivers must have a Technical Inspection (Tech) Sheet completed and available to present to an SCCA Official.
