About this event
SCCA Detroit Region Presents
Press On Regardless® National Tour RoadRally(s)
Friday and Saturday, September 11 & 12, 2026
You are invited to join us for two 230-mile brisk time-speed-distance, National Tour RoadRally(s) in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula with a separate sanction for each day. Many historic, challenging, and fun roads from the 1960’s and early 70’s POR will be used. The Richta GPS Checkpoint app will be used for timing. The cumulative score from both days will determine the overall winner of the 2026 POR. You can expect around 100 checkpoints each day.
First run in 1949, POR (Press On Regardless®) is the oldest continuously run rally in North America. These straightforward (absolutely no traps) Tour RoadRally(s) will use a mix of unpaved (80%) and paved (20%) roads varying from smooth fast gravel roads to tight and technical single lane roads. While not a car breaker, vehicles with low ground clearance are not recommended. Liberal use of free zones and pauses help you navigate through any rough areas on the route.
Pre-registration is required and closes on Tuesday September 8 at 9:00 PM EST.
- 30 car limit for each day.
- Friday Press On Regardless, September 11, 2026: SCCA member, $100 per car.
- Saturday Press On Regardless, September 12, 2026: SCCA member, $110 per car.
- Non-members must purchase a weekend membership. The cost is $25 per person.
- Free T-Shirts will be provided to competitors that register before August 12, 2026. Please provide the shirt size for both entrants.
Headquarters Hotel:
- Baymont by Wyndham of Gaylord – 510 Wisconsin Ave, Gaylord, MI 49735. Phone: (989) 217-6033
- A block of rooms with 2 queen beds for Friday and Saturday night will be held until August 12, 2026, at a special rate of $129/night plus tax. Specify “Press on Regardless” to receive this rate. This rate also applies for Thursday, September 10.
Tentative schedule:
- FPOR (Friday). Car #1 starts FPOR at 3:01 PM and Car #1 finishes at ~ 11:30 PM.
- SPOR (Saturday). Car #1 starts SPOR at 1:01 PM and Car #1 finishes at ~ 10:30 PM.
- Awards for both days and overall POR will be presented on Saturday after the finish of SPOR at The Landing Zone (same place as last year).
The route for each day will start and finish in Gaylord and stay in the Lower Peninsula.
FPOR will travel east toward the Millersburg area using some new roads to avoid the water holes we encountered last year.
SPOR will travel southeast toward Mio, Glennie, and Luzerne using roads we haven’t used since 2022/2023, and even some from the 2010’s.

NOTE: We will be using the Richta GPS Checkpoint app that requires the use of a device like a smart phone or tablet.
Look for "Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints" app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store or click on the appropriate link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richta.cpa2&hl=en_US
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/competitor-richta-checkpoint/id1448298019
During the rally, when each car reaches a checkpoint, the contestant’s device will signal a checkpoint has been reached. The device will then display your time and score (early or late). Your total score for the rally to that point will also be displayed.
Visit the Richta app information page at http://drscca.org/rally/using-the-richta-competitor-app/ to learn more about how the app works and how to use it.
