DRIVE THE HIGH COUNTRY, October 11, 2025
WHAT:
An SCCA-Sanctioned Regional Tour RoadRally in Monte Carlo format with all Checkpoints listed in the route instructions and all Checkpoint times given. There will be no assigned average speeds to maintain. Creeping and/or stopping will be allowed without penalty. Just follow the directions until you find a Checkpoint and then pace yourself into the Checkpoint sign at exactly your correct time for a perfect zero every time!! All roads will be paved and public. Events will run rain or shine. These events are NOT races. They are contests of precise driving and accurate navigation.
This rally is Event #8 of the Southern California Road Rally Championship (SCRRC), a joint championship between SCCA CalClub Region/Santa Monica Sports Car Club and the SCCA San Diego Region. WHEN:
Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Competitors can check-in and receive their Route Instructions starting at 9:00 a.m.
Competitor meeting at 9:30 a.m.
First car out at 10:01 a.m.
WHERE:
START: McDonalds, 6510 Foothill Blvd, Tujunga, CA 91042. (just west of Pasadena right off the 210 feeway). Check-in will be in the parking lot between McDonalds and IHOP.
FINISH: Jerry’s Cafe, 18291 Cajon Ct, San Bernardino, CA 92407 (just off Old US 66 near the 15/215 interchange).
PRICE:
The entry fee is $30 per car. The driver or navigator must be an SCCA member, however weekend memberships can be purchased for $15 which can be credited towards a full membership.
AWARDS:
Trophies awarded to the top finishers in each class at the finish. Results will be posted online following the event.
LENGTH:
The rally will cover approximately 111 miles over a little over 3 hours on fun-to-drive, scenic roads following legal speed limits.
There will be a 35 minute break about halfway through the rally.

PARTICIPANTS:
Each vehicle MUST have at least two participants, a driver and a navigator. Passengers are allowed, but no more than can be safely carried in the vehicle and they must sign the event waiver.
WHY:
The object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and to arrive at each checkpoint on time; not early, not late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint.
WHO:
Hosted by the Santa Monica Sports Car Club, an affiliate of the Cal Club Region of the Sports Car Club of America. Rallymaster for October 11 is Joe Akerman.
